Save the Children Australia’s 2025–2026 Impact Report highlights ATEC’s role in improving children’s health

ATEC’s contribution to healthier households and improved livelihoods through clean cooking has been featured in Save the Children Australia’s 2025–2026 Impact Report.

ATEC is one of nine companies featured in the report in Save the children Australia's 2025-2026 Impact Report. It highlights the impact of enterprises supported by the Impact Investment Fund and their contribution to improving the lives of children and communities.

Traditional cooking with biomass fuels produces indoor air pollution that harms children's health, contributing to respiratory infections and stunted development. Women and girls carry the time burden of cooking and fuel collection.

The report highlights ATEC’s affordable and efficient modern cooking solutions for households as alternatives to traditional cooking fuels, helping reduce cooking costs, time spent cooking and collecting fuels and exposure to household indoor pollution.

ATEC’s IoT-enabled eCook stoves track household usage and emissions reductions in real time. This technology provides verifiable data on the impact generated by transitioning households to electric cooking while helping connect households to carbon finance.

The Cook-to-Earn model also creates opportunities for households to earn income through carbon credits, helping improve the affordability of clean cooking to lower-income households. The Save the Children Australia Impact Investment Fund supported ATEC to scale distribution to more households. The report links this investment to improved children’s health, time savings for households and new income opportunities through carbon credits.

The impact figures in the report show significant growth compared to the previous year, with cookstove sales increasing from 11,000+ and tonnes of CO₂ avoided increasing from 24,000+. ATEC remains focused on scaling electric cooking and using data-driven approaches to make clean cooking more accessible, affordable, and impactful for the communities that need it most.
